Silver Coins, Rings, Ag Medal, 79 Wheats, and a Little Gold!!

Hello Everyone,

There sure has been a lot of great finds on our forum lately. I have some goodies to share with you from a few hunts this past week and a half.

I went back to a park that had almost skunked me last year. This year has been a different story....12 silvers and counting. An interesting find today was an old sterling religious ring. It was down around 7"...Very cool! Last week, I went out with Jon(goldenapples) to an old LA park, and found a large state seal button in addition to a 14K gold earring. I must admit, the SE did not even make a peep over the earring. I saw it laying in the dirt, and would have easily missed it if it were buried. This is the second piece of 14k gold jewelry I have found which the SE will not even break threshold on.

Also in the pic is a medal that surprised me when I clean it up...it turned out to be silver. Next to the medal, is a sterling spoon ring, which was recovered at a park in Riverside.

Oh, and for the wheatie enthusiasts, here is my pile of 79 wheaties from my hunts.

Got to love how you always manage to pull those silver dimes out of the ground!

You mentioned the SE not sounding off on 14k gold; that is really odd. I know you hunt as I do in ALL METAL MODE utilizing IRON MASK. May I ask what you have IM set on? I'm on 20 and I'm finding gold; just not a lot of it. I found a 10K ring the other day. That ring is now my LUCKY RING; I wear it on my left hand pinky. Anytime I forget what gold sounds like, I probe it with my SunRay. In fact, since doing this I'm finding a lot more nickels. Nickels sound off a tad lower in sound than gold. It's my tip of the day!

One other thing; don't you hunt primarly in CONDUCT?

Good to hear from you again!! My iron mask is set to 27, and I use Conduct sounds. It didn't matter what iron mask setting I was using when testing the SE with the tiny 14k earring....there was no break in the threshold tone. So even if I had hunted in all metal, I still would have missed it. I imagine larger 14K gold items will sound similar to nickels and even higher, but you can't find what you don't hear.

When you find this earring,It was open or close?
If it is open the machine will not response.If it is close you will hear the sound of it.
Many times in the water I can see open earring but machine don't.

Thanks, Civil. Yes, silver runs through my body, then into my SE, then back to my body... No video today. My camera-man had to go to work today. He'll be out with me tomorrow.

Thank You Pepper. Good job on the Wheatie. Last year I averaged around 5 wheats to one silver coin. Not sure what your ratio is, but keep at it and you will eventually strike the silvery coinage.
