I'll try to keep this short tonite...
Izzy and I found our first silver ring.
WOO-HOO!!! Got off at 4 and picked the "IZ" up from the sitter's. She said she wanted to "go find treasure" - she didn't have to ask me twice. We didn't have a whole lot of time (school night), so we stayed close and walked over to the park by our home. I haven't really spent too much time there with the 'tector but I believe I will be frequenting this park quite heavily in the very near future. I had the 4" coil on thy "Hunter of Bounty" thinking I'd just mess around by the playground area - I should have brought the 8" - just messing around while walking to the tot lot (across a mid-sized field of grass) I was swinging rather indiscriminately. Picked up a solid quarter signal and figured I might as well dig (all the while I got Izzy flipping out next to me, ready to bore a hole in the ground with her bare hands
). Popped the plug out and right there staring at us was the edge of something silver (this is the first time I had this happen as far as having it right there when the plug came out). I'm thinking it's a quarter or dime (and was fairly excited as was Iz) - she reached in and pulled out this pretty little sterling ring with what looks to be a tiny piece of amethyst set in it!!! While it's not colonial "wilver", it's got the tiny little 925 stamp - good enough for me! We were both totally psyched about it to say the least. Decided to cover a small area of this field and ended up with some junque, thirty eight cents in clad, the ring and a strange eyeball find - a metal "tag" (?) that says, "Chinese Laundry" on it
. I'll be heading back in the morning with the 8 inch coil to hammer this area. Hopefully, there's more to find...
Anyway, plenty of pics to peruse and thanks for stopping by!
