Hunting here in Vegas lately has been like detecting on the Sun but doing it for 20 years here you gain a little resistance to the heat. Finds are from last 2 weekend hunts just haven't had the time to post. Decided to hit some of my previous lot sites that were productive in the past and with it being so hot decided to go slow and dig all the iffy sigals I didn't before, Amazing what I found by swinging slower. Dug 2 of the Mercs at 8" plus both were bouncing from 74 to 82, so much trash in these lots fall in this range but I told myself I was going to dig all and glad I did, decided to rehunt my sites after this to see what ive been leaving behind. Found a nice variety of finds, coins, tokens, jewelry, buttons, locks and some unidentifiable items? Need help on long brass pc. also on lock, can't find any info on it? Also the 55 cent looks odd? So does the clad quarter? Thanks for lookinf and hopefully some identifications.

somehow the words very cool are an understatement

great finds! i couldn't take that heat. Looks like you have some rough digging too.

Nice digs. I need to go back over some spots and dig all just have a lot of places that are new to me to detect first.

Its crazy how the dirt is here ! Hardly can get a half inch in the dirt when 2 feet away the dirt is soft and sandy go figure? And yes it seems like most my finds end up in the hardpack. Lol.

Again Ray, I love all your finds. You are an animal, of course it a "dry heat" you don't know or remember what humidity is. It was 90 and 97% humidity where I was at yesterday. The saying around here is, "it's not the heat, it's the humidity that will get ya" lol haaaa Just kidding, you work very hard for your finds, your like me too in try new things to find more.

Nice finds. Yeah I just learned the meaning of "go slow" too and it yields so many more items.

Hi Ray. I found that same exact compact and now use it to carry my silvers safely. I always enjoy your posts and admire the determination you must have to hunt there. The soil looks incredibly hard and the heat just multiplies the misery we easterners would be in, lol! Stay hydrated my friend!

Wow.... great finds... what coil were you using?

Very nice finds. Congrats on the silvers.

Those are just awesome finds. Well done! Congratulations!

109 ! Yeah but it's a dry heat! LOL

I use the 5x8, have the stock but have never put it on. I mostly hunt these abandoned lots so I really need the seperation. There is so much trash and accumulation of metal objects that when I hunt it is never silent so I really need to listen and watch the numbers or I could miss somethings as you see.

WoW thats a lot of nice finds !!! hunting in that...i can't even imagine. They'd find my detector in the lot and a big spot beside it that looked like a big cherry popsicle melted. And to top it all off they'd probably only find pull tabs in my bag !!!

I had one experience with humidity and it was only like 60%.... that told me I could never handle the humidity, time to go back to my throat and eye dryin heat. Yeah walking or should I say baby stepping and seperating the iffy sounds sure paid off. Good luck on your hunts also.

Thanks old Dude, thats funny because I use a different one I found for the same thing. And I look you Eastners root infested soil and think how do they do it. Lol.

You have some really nice finds there. I know you earned them. I like everything you found, but I am especially drawn to the silvery eagle button. Have you identified it yet? I sure looks old to me.
Best of Luck!
Phil
