Hunting here in Vegas lately has been like detecting on the Sun but doing it for 20 years here you gain a little resistance to the heat. Finds are from last 2 weekend hunts just haven't had the time to post. Decided to hit some of my previous lot sites that were productive in the past and with it being so hot decided to go slow and dig all the iffy sigals I didn't before, Amazing what I found by swinging slower. Dug 2 of the Mercs at 8" plus both were bouncing from 74 to 82, so much trash in these lots fall in this range but I told myself I was going to dig all and glad I did, decided to rehunt my sites after this to see what ive been leaving behind. Found a nice variety of finds, coins, tokens, jewelry, buttons, locks and some unidentifiable items? Need help on long brass pc. also on lock, can't find any info on it? Also the 55 cent looks odd? So does the clad quarter? Thanks for lookinf and hopefully some identifications.

Its been 90+ degrees here with 80% humidity. I went out last week early in the morning and the mosquitoes ate me up and then it got too hot to hunt. This week it cooled down into the 70s but then I sprang my ankle. Such great luck, lol.

I was wondering when you were going to show the goods! As far as the heat, when the temp starts off at 86 degrees at 6am, there is no where to go but up. Sunday when I stopped it was close to 100. This weekend I hope to get out by 5:30.

As far as the finds in the hard pack, from my experience here it usually means that the ground has been undisturbed for a long time, where the soft ground has been plowed up when they pulled out the homes, or was always dirt and never had a lawn or home on it.

I'll try to track you down Saturday early and we can find a shaded tree to detect around, LOL! At least we don't have bugs and dripping sweat to worry about like out east, gotta pick your poison! But digging here in the hard pack sucks.

Real nice collection Ray , congrats on your cool finds ..cheers Mick

Is it just me or in your picture of pennys you have a 1914d?? Anyone else see that??!!

Good eye it sure looks like it to me. I think people get in the habit of just throwing wheats in a pile and not paying much attention

I do see a 1914, but it looks like an S to me? Hard to say....good eyes.

I need a 1914d for my set..... maybe thats why I noticed it....

question. why is downtown look like a ghost town no homes left. tried to google my grandmas ex area and all i see is bare land. I worked the Union Plaza during the summer parkin cars.:dontknow: My aunt lived across from the Showboat torn down years ago. looks like you have many places to go MDing. going back to my second home is on my bucket list. maybe i will see ya :occasion14:

I think I need to start goimg thru my wheat cents. Lol.

Zappos is buying up alot of land Downtown, vacant lots and properties and tearing down the abandoned homes on them. Trying to clean up Downtown and bring more of his private businesses in. Been going on for a year or longer. If u come down give me a holler.

Yeah the one is S for sure, still good! Check that other one, theres a mint mark, just cant tell. 32d isnt bad either! Nice bunch of wheats. My best is a 1909 vdb, had some crud that resembled a mint mark, almost fainted, then wept when crud came off...lol

Had one of those experiences with a 32 quarter, not a feeling I want to relive. Lol.

Thinking the dog tag is the killer find, people love em,
especially when they are in the shape of a pooch.
Ya dun good!
Carl

Nice digs there ray, lots of hard work digging all that up!

Man , you are rockin it hard out there RayRay ! but the rewards are there so why not ? that 1955 wheatie does appear to be a minor
mint error -off center strike of some sort . I like the little pistol charm .
