Found this about 8 inches in the ground today. 2ND hunt I've ever done. Still new to md. Advice on places to keep an eye out for?

You need a purity testing kit. Most commonly those turn out to be melted aluminum.

Writer, it mainly depends on what you are interested in. Best way to learn the machine and find things is to dig, dig, dig.
Learn the sounds and signals, how it works with different ground. Work the schools and playgrounds to get comfortable
with it, always good stuff and trash there to see what you can sort out. Research you local area, look for old house sites,
farms, etc. Talk to some of the older folks, great info there. Ask the property owner about MDing, worst they can say is no
but you would be surprised how many are cool with it. Please leave the ground looking good, helps all of us MDers
keep a good name. :skullflag:
