Well. . . Mystery solved. . went back to scan the area for the cap . . and low and behold. . an aluminum salt shaker top :icon_scratch: . . was hoping for silver but thats ok, i also found a no date shield nickle and a 1888 IHP in the process.

Good job finding the cap. At least it's complete now. Time to fond the pepper shaker now! [emoji106]

Great hunt and nice job finding the rest of the salt shaker. The brass eagle reminds me of a tin roof snow guard... I googled around to try and find a match, but cant find that exact style eagle. It appears the attachment point on yours was above the tail feathers on the back where it looks broken.
