Silver prices

Yep Back in the 90's the coin dealer who set up at the local
Farmers Market used to have a Tupperware container of Morgan dollars.
& a sign on it $5.00 each. IF I knew then what I know now,
they would be mine.

would be nice for a second chance, at $2.00 each :occasion14:
Jeff?! You can't pay more then $1 for a morgan, this is a hobby, not a risky business!

I've bought a little Ag in recent months off ebay and Craigslist. I thought a paid a decent price but could very well be sitting on a loss (hopefully small) at this point. I don't pretend to know which way the silver price will go, but the silver market does scare me right now. I've read what I can on the current market and my personal conclusion is that there are more reasons for silver to drop than to go up. The government's printing of tons of money hasn't really had much effect on silver prices.

So, I have a little silver stash that I am content to sit on even if silver continues to drop. Between finds in the wild and some decent buys here and there I really haven't invested too much in the stash, so it won't cause me great pain to hold the stash even if prices drop more. However, I decided today not to buy any more silver and will focus on CRH finds. No matter how bad things get in the silver market, you can't go wrong paying face value.

Silver, just like gold are manipulated and that is why the prices are droping. The prices can only be manipulated for so long and then you will see the prices sky rocket.

As for the price of silver, its price is decided by futures trading and silver is leveraged anywhere between 40 and 100 times. For every 1 ounce of physical silver out there, between 40 and 100 times that is being traded on the market. There will come a time when more than 1 out of 40 to 100 people will ask for delivery of their silver, when that happens and that physical silver cant be delivered because its not there, you will see the prices sky rocket.

As for me, I am still in the profit, silver would have to drop to $11.28 for me to break even at this point and time. I dont see that happening any time soon and if it does, I will be the first to back up the truck and max the cards out on the stuff.

Actually I don't even want to pay a Dollar for them Wika :tongue3:
I'd prefer to dig 'em out the ground :laughing7:

But I believe I'd break down at about $2 to $5.00

I've been buying all along. I have trouble buying on these dips, as my local dealers get cleaned out of gold and silver. There's a show this weekend and 90% will be sparse, with a premium. Same with my purchases online, Provident and some of the other houses can deliver at price, but you may wait weeks. Good luck.

If it drops to 20 I am buying, but I hope it goes to the teens.

With all the obombs administration talking about economic recovery, housing market on the rise, 9$ minimum wage and unemployment dropping everyday its no wonder precious metals are coming down. However just like in 09 when the bubble popped so will this talk of recovery. And that is when silver will rocket back to the 40s and 50s. I say buy buy buy. All the way down and when it hits the 30-50$ mark sell for profit . I'm no broker or anything like that just speculation on what I read and see.

When it drops to face, I'll buy more.... Oh, that's right, I do that now.:laughing7:

yes, $19 silver coming soon... then $10 silver soon after that. Time to dump and run quickly

And what happpens when the fed stops buying all the debt and the interest rate are no longer artificially held down.

I belong to several boards so I have a difficult time recalling who posted what where < BUT someone posted a link from some financial guy about 3 months ago that said the sign that things are going in the tank is that sliver and gold will fall , stocks will rise and then , The rug will get pulled out from under the whole financial thing ------- So we will wait and see ------------- If I find the group I will post the link to the topic

A lot of us on TN have a different prospective as to the future of Ag. For myself I love getting Ag @ face just like everyone here. I have never sold any of my silver. It really doesn't bother me that silver are down right now as I am in for the long term. If it continues to drop it really just gives me more reason to pick up some rounds and bars and a few junk 90's. I will keep CRHing for face but as many know here sometimes the stack of stash is slow to build on just the hunt.
Just my 2 cents.

RB: They already are in motion. If you’re looking for a date I can’t tell you. Remember, the objectives are the same, but plans, well, they adapt. They exploit. Watch how this fiscal cliff thing plays out. This is the run-up to the next big economic event.

I can’t give you a date. I can tell you to watch things this spring. Start with the inauguration and go from there. Watch the metals, when they dip. It will be a good indication that things are about to happen. I got that little tidbit from my friend at --------

Seems like it's always either, things are going to happen this spring...or this fall...or next year...or...last month...or...

The lower the better i will buy more soon $2000more and if it goes down more i will keep getting more. I will use most of my crh money and do less boxes for a while. Silver will go right back up. In a short time. Thats what i think and will put my money in all the silver i can get. I will pick up 2 oz of gold to $1.500.00 or less. Buy low sell if you have to hi !! I have 9 years to wait!!

Unemployment has NEVER gone down in the last several years, it is increasing fairly quickly. The numbers are just skewed by how they track unemployment. It's a polished turd. You have too many people in the US that are smart enough to know they can make more money through not working.

wait till interest rates go up - precious metals will deflate a bit more

If you can find the link to this article, I would greatly like to read it.

It is always interesting to read all the comments when silver jumps or dips.

A jump means we are guaranteed to see members posting that $100 silver is a sure thing in the not too far future. Dips = posting about $15-20 silver.

Unless you are investing in silver and buying at spot prices, I'm not sure why forum members get so worked up. This is a CRH forum and you are all getting silver at face value. Sure it would be great to see silver back up to $50/oz but I am still making a killing if silver goes down to $15/oz. I consider making a killing when I am paying ten cents for a dime and having it be worth 20x face value, 15x, 10x, etc..........

No one knows what will happen as exhibited by postings being all over the place but one thing is certain-- you will not lose a cent if your getting your silver at face value.

Very true Mental Unrest that most of us get our silver from face value. But to not speculate about silver prices is like being full and wondering if you can still have that piece of pie for dessert, we are all going to do it. I don't put much stock in the stock market with the ecxeption that over the years I have seen patterns between stocks falling and silver/gold prices falling. Not always but enough.

As for silver bottoming out. I hope not. The idea of silver being worth techically nothing is scary, but the funny thing is that our pastor of our church tells us to all have some silver on hand for when TSHTF.

Sincerely, Garoulady

PS - found my first silver dime via box. not bad and I am having my work order 4 more boxes for me. they are so much lighter to carry than nickels.
