Silver purse and whatsit today

Hello again everyone. Got out for a little while today and managed a little clad ,a small silver purse charm/pendant, and this thing. I've seen this same item on here before but it was several years ago and I can't find that particular post. If anybody on here knows, please feel free to share with the rest of the class. Haha! It actually opens but alas, not even big enough to hold a dime inside.

The whatsit kinda looks to me like one of those sandwich makers you put in the campfire to cook. I think they are made of cast iron. Check to see if it splits and if there is a hinge.
