I met Tnetter, Kurtstuben this morning. We went to a spot where we rarely find anything good. It was cold and windy... and we were getting discouraged. Luckily for us, Smittyman called and alerted us to a new spot. Said he found wheaties there, and that we ought to go by and give it a try.
We headed out.
I cheated and stopped on the way. It was a 40 square foot spot that had just been cleared. The hunch paid off with a ‘51 Rosie.
.
Smittyman’s permission was at least an acre of grassy front yard, unfortunately not that old, but we were just happy to be invited. Here is a pic of Kurtstuben getting after it.

I found this aluminum “pretzel” but wasn’t sure what it was. It says: Purity, Body and Flavor on it. I just couldn’t imagine what these three attributes could be referring to, except, girls...

Turned out to be a 1950s golf ball marker made to advertise Ballantine Beer.
When I saw the back of this cuff button, I was sure it was going to be an eagle button. Turned out to be a Great Seal button. Still a decent find.

I managed to find a half dozen wheaties.

There wasn’t much trash so I was digging all of the targets. Three times during the 3 hour hunt, nice high tones rang in and the holes produced silver dimes.

This target didn’t sound very good, but as soon as I saw it, I knew it was silver.

Sterling St. Christopher medal. It’s a nice thick one with very little wear. Score.

Here is a pic of all of today’s keepers. It was a very good day for me. Thanks Smittyman!

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts.
