Good morning everyone. We found this at a new site this weekend me and my buddy Jdsly located. Found numerous musket balls, buttons, relics and a shield nickel. This is an old mill site close to where we've found both 18th and 19 th century relics. No visible markings. Any ideas? Thanks for looking and hope everyone is having a great day!

Hello Darby.. Hate to break it to you but it's not silver, because silver doesn't rust. Interesting find though. :p

Looks like solder or brazing marks on the back. Cufflink front?

Not a 100%, but to me it looks like a real silver electrical contact point from a higher voltage switch box. The mine electricians hoard those because their silver. I believe that is fusing marks and not rust on the item? One mine I go to they melt the silver off with a torch, We always trade talk finding treasure stories and they showed me the globs of silver they melt from the industrial electrical items they run in a mine. I believe some have a very heavy plating and some contacts are solid silver?

Thanks y'all! I believe whatever is on the back is copper. Cuff link sounds like that could be right...not sure. Thanks for your input.

May be a clip from the adjustable fastening of a pair of Braces. I think they are called suspenders in the USA?
