My md season is coming to end with lake effect snow on its way again tomorrow. But for now I'll take 75 silver coins in my first year of md'ing. It's cool that I found another large cent along with 6 wheat pennies. The house was built in the 1940's so I was hoping to pull out a silver. I managed the '41 merc and '46 rosie. Shortly after I pulled the LC out and was wondering what was at the house location before it was built. I found my answer when cleaning the LC. It had a hole drilled in it to be used as a necklace. I'm not sure if the date will be readable, still cool...

Congrats on the silvers and LC. Readable or not, it's a nice find.

Congrats on the finds

Congrats!! Awesome Silver! :)

nice finds there!,2 silver's & a Lc makes for a great hunt in my book

You had a banner first year of MDing. Congratulations and hope you hit 100 silvers at least next year.

Very nice finds.

Congrats on 75 in your first year! I am at 47 trying to get to 50 for my first year.
GL&HH.

75 silvers your first year is great! I started this spring, and may have hit 20 or so, as a lot of my detecting was ball fields, soccer fields, school yards..etc to get the feel of my machine. I did hit some older home sites in my area and did very well, scored at least one silver at every home site that was built 1950 or earlier, and I have a few lined up for next year. The E-Trac is a silver sniffing machine, for sure..cool stuff...ddf

That is really cool. i hit 57 Silvers my first year. You've got the bug now, hoping you hit 100 next season! GL&HH

You guys are right in that the E-Trac is a silver sniffing machine. A lot of what I found came from parks and schools. Next year I'm going to have to start driving up to people's houses and asking for permission. I did a few times with success. I just feel a little out of place asking at a total strangers house. But for the time spent on some virgin ground, 100 silvers next year should be an easy expectation.

Greatday
Early pants and shirts did not have pockets...so we see some older coins with holes in them for a string or thread to go through and tie to your clothing or worn around the wrist.....one string saving account ! nice find
I think your yard might have been a farm field at one time, and the coin was dropped there . HH

That's a lot of silver for the season I'm nowhere close to that but I couldn't get out as much as I wanted. Congrats!

Nice finds, I still have not counted my totals, not over till Kate sings!

You did great there, not many people find in their first year what you found in one day during your first year metal detecting, you did great! You should try that place again, I'm sure that there is more silver there. Like I have said before, it is amazing what places certain items show up in (mainly talking about the large cent).
