Skunked this weekend 'cept for the very last hole.
This is diggin weather for sure...had a bunch of places lined up and nothing seemed to go right this weekend.
So we head for the marble site, I did pick a merc there last time, maybe it still had a treasure or two left. Did find a few more marbles, a 1944 Austrialian big penny and 10 wheats. Starting to get dark by now and I hit the 99 millionth "dollar" signal...pick up the coil and sweep it again...only this time the signal doesn't repeat like all the other big junk does when you swing two feet off the ground. So I pop a big plug and FINALLY there she is...1918-D Walker. I haven't dug a walker in so long I almost forgot what they look like. Pretty battered and scratched by the heavy equipment, like I'm complaining...
At this point there's really nothing left to do but shut off the detector and go home, almost to dark to see and there ain't no chance of repeating.
