So me, The Basque, and The Wayward Yank decided to head to a spot in Jones County. They were coming from Emerald Isle and being of softer material than me, I had already been on scene for almost two hours before they turned up. The place was a wash. It was not what I had hoped for and as such my trash collection was off to a great start. :BangHead: Just before they rolled in I got a call from Gxray stating that he had the day off and he was thinking of hitting the over 100 acres of field that we had visited on Saturday. It was then that I figured that The Basque deserved to get a good crack at getting something cool, and The Wayward Yank was on his rookie run, so sure why not. They turned up at my location and I offered them the information knowing that it was another hours drive. They both say yes and we were off. An hour later we arrived and Gxray pulled up shortly thereafter. It was about 1030 when we got started. 7 hours later we were finished, having worked an area approximately the size of half a football field. Gxray was on fire with enough 3 ringers to arm a Marine Corps fire team, plus half a dozen buttons. The Basque got a small eagle button (photo to follow once he emails a photo to me) and The Wayward Yank got a Williams Cleaner Bullet (photo also to follow....). I myself got the obligatory shotgun shell ends, camp lead etc, but I also scored three more 3 ringers, a button back and a bullet button. But the crowning moment came when I was standing about six feet from Gxray as he was digging on a signal he had gotten. I got a solid buzz on my BH-T4 which told me that it was copper. I dug and out came a National Ex-Slave Mutual Relief Bounty & Pension Ass'n of the U.S.A. medal. Gxray almost swallowed his cigarette and his eyes were as big as saucers (honest!). While holding it the end of the star came off but it was not lost and it quickly made its way to the safety of my truck. Overall a good day for all of us. :occasion14: I will be back there on Saturday. Who knows what's hiding out there.

Thanks. The amazing thing is that it was found at a Civil War site.

We have 100 acres to hit. I will give you the low down when you get there. I am sure that the area we were in will produce again. I may wander off and see whats out further out though.

Thanks. I have no idea how that works. I have returned a few items to owners but no honorable mentions show. Maybe someone can steer me in the right direction.
