Small diameter, deep holes?

I'm currently about 3ft deep into the hard rock. I was talking to another miner about our water woes as I had 5ft of water in my claim and at the time no pump. Bucket by bucket it all had to come out. 1400+ gallons. So we was chewing the fat and he happens to tell me that once I hit between 15-18ft that there is a nice big seam and once you hit it the water will disappear. Currently only one or 2 miners has ever hit that level at this mine. I would really like to so I'm wondering what would be the best way to get that deep. The biggest bit I have so far is a 3/4" on a 1" hammer drill. Would it be possible to get that deep? I only have about 12ft-15ft more to go. What's my best bet? Everything has to be walked in, no vehicles, no long extensions from the parking lot. Would it be possible or a waste of my time to try to hit that seam already?

The old hard rock miner's drove 200ft deep shafts and 400 ft tunnels into the mountains with hand tools and black powder, so it can be done, but is it worth it? Kinda depends on how much time you have. 3 ft. per year times six years - you are there!

I'm thinking a small diameter hole, like 3/4 of an inch by 15ft deep lol, I have the jack hammer on order.

how do you get 5 ft of water in a 3 ft hole? and how to get a hole as deep as you need? hmmm get friends! lots of them . then power tools and a generator.
and a powered winch to lift buckets of rock. and a small pump and a venting fan from harbor freieght.
