Small pewter bell founding Chazy NY duringPound the Ground

I found this bell during Pound the Ground event. It has 3 stars on each side and the metal pea inside so it still rings. I dug it at a home site that was last on the topo maps in 1940. Can anyone give me any information on how old it is and what type of metal it is?

Croto bell looks to be either brass or tomback..

Crotal bell. Most were attached in bunches on leather like sleigh bells.
