Next day issue, Thur, Jul 02, 1891:
We follow once more a story from the ladies of seventh avenue who in our previous report survived a sojourn with a vicious serpent. Having cooled their nerves with laudanum and tincture of cannabis, the ladies set back on their quest to collect the flowers from the mountain. But upon seeing the flowers, which they described as having taken on an animated, frightfully colorful aura, the ladies used sticks to clear a path to a cave, wherein lurked a purple and white striped cat whose body vanished but whose smile remained floating. Within the cave the ladies slept and upon waking all had returned to normal. While all was well in the end, the ladies returned home empty handed, the flowers of their desire, now suspect, had fomented an apprehension to their collectability.
