100_4127.webp100_4128.webp100_4130.webpThis is a piece of a soapstone bowl that would have been huge. I compared the radius on the piece to the radius on a 22" flower pot and it was the same. The bowl was bigger in diameter than a five gallon bucket not sure how deep it was but it was most likely really heavy.

Looks like it has an incised design on the edge .
 
Looks like it had x's joined to form diamonds.

That is neat the markings sure look a lot alike.
 
Nice piece I dont find many but have found a couple pieces. What is the age of the bowls made from soapstone in your area?
 
Soap stone is very rare around here nice find.:thumbsup:
