Ok...so first thread with pics...let's hope I cropped, uploaded..etc..correctly...but anyway...soccer field close to my house, I've hunted there several times with tons of clad, costume jewelry etc...this is a 6 acre park and an 1875 overlay showed
a dwelling there. Last weekend's short hunt did produce a very worn 1929 Standing Liberty quarter, but this find today warrants a pic or two for all my T-net friends, a beautiful 1943 Walking Liberty half dollar...ATP absolutely SCREAMED 90-91..what a beautiful sound...enjoy..Thanks very much..ddf

Was so sure I would find one today too, but it wasn't to be, way to go! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Love them silvers!! Good work DDF!!

My favorite coin to find. Great save!

Looks like a nice walker...

Great find man it's always nice to dig a half!

Ooooooooooh! My two favorite phrases in one sentence...."soccer field", and "big silver." Congrats on a real beauty! (Now go find the big silver rings in the soccer field!) Sub 8-)

Very nice find. Congrats on scoring big at the soccer field!

Beautiful silver. You never know what you'll find at parks. Most were farms, private residences or businesses prior to being made available to the public.

BOOM :blob8:goes the dynamite!

got that same rush last week with the 90-91. mine was just a puny '51 Ben. Walker is on my list---maybe from the 2 boxes this week:-)

Awesome Walker. Kudos to you.  Your research pointed you to the right area to detect. Don't you love it when a plan comes together and you find some sweet keepers.

Thanks very much...and I have yet to score a Ben myself..still on the wish list. We have a parks ban here, but I obtained permission at this particular park as I helped a soccer coach retrieve a lost wedding ring last year...as I have been..."hunting" for my wife's "lost" earring...heh heh...only once did I get approached by a parks employee who reminded me of the ban, but I dropped his boss's name, who did give me permission, all has been good since then. I might have worn out my welcome by now, but I'll swing away until I'm chased away...lol...ddf

maybe remind them who pays for the PUBLIC LAND---then point your thumb--- at you. the ban is likely vague and easily overturned by any judge.
