Solar Battery Chargers for 12v Batteries?

So I am just wondering if anyone has an affordable suggestion for a solar charger to cap off spare batteries? I found this on ebay, anyone used it or have any suggestions?

it all depends on your particular batterys needs.as you stated, this is for topping off your battery. Harbhor freight also sells these as well as the battery (current sensitive ) controller, but thats extra.

Basically I don't want to carry around 2 marine batteries for my electric water pump, so I was looking at batteries more in the 30Ah area so I could run one one day, and charge the other with the sun. The 30s weigh quite a bit less. The current output isn't all that good on these chargers, but they could be helpful.

If you want to be completely free and keep the battery charged throughout the day you need watts. This is a portable 100 watt system. CHARGER

Good advise from Viper. I'm assuming your running a pump that draws around 3amps to be able to run on 30ah battery all day? To fully recharge the other battery you will need at a minimum a 60w charger and a 100w is even better for the semi-cloudy days.

Exactly, would be running a 3amp pump about 6 hours, in two 3 hour segments. I like the setup in the link as it is super portable.

I agree, that's a really nice setup. should work great for your needs. Wish I had one. Good find Viper!!

Like anything do your homework and read reviews. Do some research as there are other chargers available, the prices are all over the map...
