Hello All,

Got out once on my own and once with Shang and we each got a Spanish silver for the total. Our next Spanish will be the 80th one we've dug in Louisiana. Here's the video:

Shangum's coin was a 1786. Neat that in spite of it being so worn the date was so clear.

Mine was a nice silver dessert on the end of a very long day where I'd dug for 8 hours with only one intact and one broken tombac button to show for it. Was a relief to walk up on this:

An 1807 Half Real with a lot of detail. :headbang:

Wow... the detail on your half Real is amazing. Looks like you had another great hunt. Congrats.

Wa double on the Spanish silver, Sweet!!

Great hunt for the silvers, Buck. I think I'd do 8hrs for a couple of Spanish silvers.

Thanks so much for your kind words Tom!

Cheers,

Buck

Congrats to you and Shangoggle!

You gents give us regular schlubs a look into what real deal looks like, and we thank you.

Best of luck on your next adventure sir.

#80 will happen--no clue when--but right now I've already had a great year with the GW button so the rest is just extra. Although my main goal now is to get a respectable silver coin total for my team this year of around 30-35 silvers. We've got a way to go still, and May gets stuck in the 20s but we hope to keep work from interfering with digging this fall like it did this spring! I love seeing those coins washed out too! Thanks for your reply my friend!

Complete washed out! So cool! I absolutely love the moments when you spot the rim of a coin laying on top. Finding a coin like this with only a small spike of soil under it is a moment you have to enjoy! Next rain it had tipped over.... :headbang: Congrats to you both and good luck with #80 next time!

Sounds great! Looking forward to seeing what you find, my friend!

Agreed, got 2 new permissions so far this year. Approx 3 more to go! It's gonna be a good one.
Keep at it budd!

Exactly! 7 hours of suck is right! I was ready to throw in the towel and call it a skunk with my two tombacs that day, then 15 mins later I was staring at the coin!

Great job guys. Not many better feelings than unearthing an early silver coin. You can have 7 hours of suck and that one moment makes it a great day. Crazy hobby man....yes I said "7 hours of suck" lol
