Some great/really buff S & S nickel rolls
I've bought some nickel rolls in the past few days and I've had some pretty good finds - mainly from String & Son rolls - so I thought I would post my results.
Friday 9/16 ($60 in mixed rolls including $20 in S & S rolls):
4 clad dimes (from a cwr)
3 foreign coins: 1 2000 Bahamas pineapple & 2 very light weight 5 shillings Republic of Somalia coins with a big elephant on one side and 2 lions holding a shield with a star on it on the other side.
2 '09P's
14 pre-'60 Jefferson's including a '40S and (2) '51S (mintage 7,776,000)
2 nice buffaloes from the S & S rolls including a full date 1936 and a nearly full date 1928 (mintage 23,411,000)
Monday 9/19 ($40 in S & S rolls):
9 pre-'60 Jefferson's
3 very nice mid-grade full date/full Liberty buffaloes: 1935, 1936 & a 1936S (mintage 14,930,000). And the '35 & '36S I found in the same roll.
No silver but still some pretty nice finds with all the buffaloes. I bought $20 more of S & S nic's today from another branch of the same bank that I haven't searched yet. If I get any more buffaloes I'll update my finds.
Update: I didn't find any buffaloes in the 10 S & S rolls I bought today (9/20) but I did find 7 pre-'60's including a '49S (mintage 9,716,000) and also an '09D which I believe is only the 2nd '09D I've ever found.
I think I'll keep at these S & S rolls & pass on the Brinks rolls - I haven't been having as much luck with those lately.
