Some Juniper Lamps

This what I did for a living for about nine years. still have pics of hundreds of things I've made. Lost a lot more with a couple of computer crashes.

The floor lamp with the side table was huge. about six feet tall, with a 24" piece of granite.

To me this is a form of treasure hunting. I used to do a lot of searching to find these unique pieces of wood.

So your not using old dead junipers the make these? The unfinished piece looks like a fresh cut tree.? I always thought these juniper wood works were made from the old dead ones you see laying around.

I used both. Don't know what it looks like on your screen, but I tried to show a before and after with the raw piece, and a finished lamp.

I mentioned in another post about the BLM clearing thousands of acres in Central Oregon, and that's where I get most of my wood. Sometimes I would get permission to cut it on large private ranches. ( They consider it to be a weed. )

The dark part is dead wood, and the white cream color is where it was still alive when cut.

Hey, that looks really nice!
I like stuff like that too... it would look good in my house,
as many things I have are "natural" or "indian" style.
I especially like the tall lamp/ table. I love it! Good work!
We call those cedar trees here... yeah, I know, same thing.
Most people cut it all down off thier lot, but I didnt. Love the smell too.

Wow...those are beautiful # 3 & 4 are my favorites.
