some KRF stuff and a bone awl

found some points and a drill
all are KRF except one chert
also a bone awl
the awl appears to have been broke and was in the process of being repaired by making it shorter

Wow killer points. That is amazing the way they were working that awl. What do you think the process was. I thought they just carved them down.It looks like they were cutting it?

that is a sweet bone awl larson,almost looks like they were making it into a drill bit?whatever the reason its a cool piece,thx for sharing the pics. :thumbsup:

the 6 inch awl was being made into a 4 inch by cutting
most were 6-8 inches when first made
they were either cut like this one or continually got shorter from sharpening on a piece of sandstone
I have some real short ones
one deer leg bone yielded 2 bone awls after it was cut and split in half

Larson,as usual I feel as if I have been on a museum tour when I view your finds (and, those finds of our other artifact collectors,also). Wonder if the awl could have been used like a huge darning needle to sew clothing and other needed items....or kinda like a knitting needle. Whatever, I remain happy that snow has not yet covered your hunting fields.....now go out and find more----Please....
