Some odd finds today!

I spent 6 hours working hard trying to get a hammered, but no luck


Oh well, i still got some nice bits!

Two horse bosses, one really nice lead one. the middle of it seems to be ceramic
Two strange musket ball things
A jetton and a very nice little button with two hearts and a crown on(I don't think it's silver)!

Another good clue that supports CRU's 18th century cufflink theory (or answer I guess) is that there are copper/brass ones the same design as your find.

I wasn't doubting Cru, i've seen his books I just had to have a look for the Charles1 one to see!

Neither was I ... I just had to throw it out there because I've seen many of these found or for sale which didn't jive with being a collectible Charles piece. The fact both exist makes perfect sense.

The two things made of lead, like two balls with a neck connecting them are from a Roman whip that was used to beat people. Most famous use was on Jesus.

They were attached to the end of a leather string and the string attached to a handle. There would be 10-12 of those strings with the lead piece on one handle. They have a name but I can't remember it. I am sure someone on here will know. I would guess they are quite rare and likely more valuable than the coins you found.

Are you thinking of "cat of nine tails"?
