Some recent finds. Civil War Relics at the school yards.
Been huntin' the school yards after work the past few days. I have 2 old sites I frequent, but with the over growth of spring I will have to wait and hit those this winter. In the meantime I have still managed to find some old stuff! From the one hunt was a school in Bunker Hill, WV and I dug a CW spencer cartridge from the grassy playground at about 6 inches. No bullets though. The darn academic medal gave my heart a little jump when I first dug it...thought I had a large gold coin! Nope! lol Another school in Stephenson, VA I dug a CW pistol bullet about 5 inches down at the dugout on the ball field. That was a sweet little surprise! Other than that just some odds and ends, 2 wheats, 1945 and a 1930 something, a brass ring, little trinkets and a mess of clad. Your typical school yard finds! No silver or gold yet. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
