---> Please read: Because some of my posts can be lengthy i have added a new feature to help out some people. QUICK VIEW: If you like to read my full length post (which i reccomend) simply read every word. If you are a fast viewer in a hurry, read only the writing in caps and bold, or red. This writing will summarize the whole point of the post in a sentence or two. Please give me a reply though either way! Thanks for looking!

Got 2 boxes of halves yesterday and the day before. The first box- skunked, absolutely nothing. Second box- (1) 1964 90% silver Kenedy half in uncirculated condition. A 1969 british 50 pence piece (non silver). 2 half dollars with holes in them (make great gifts as necklaces), and thats about it. Not to bad, i will get another box on thursday. Every thirsday.

Im going to a coin show this sunday. I only have $35 to spend. Anyone have any buying strategies? Do you think i should buy bulk silver to search through because the price is so low? Thanks for the help!

I GOT SKUNKED ON ONE, AND FOUND A 90%ER, A 50 PENCE COIN (NON SILVER) AND 2 HALVES WITH HOLES IN THEM FOR NECKLACES.

No, I was complimenting you on the summarization of the post that you typed in Uppercase BOLD. It summarized your entire post in two sentences.

oh, Thank you af1773. I wasnt quite sure how clear it was. Thanks.

Nice idea CC....as for the coin show, i would examen coins in your pricerange that tend to go up in battle, then by that in bulk and watch your inestmant grow. Also, you can by bulk inexpensive and wait several decades to make a profit.

Just a thought

Lol, Thank you for the help everyone! I guess il buy some bulk silver, maybe i can get silver dollars for less than there silver value again. Last time i was at a coin show (silver was at $15) i got a couple morgan dollars for 8 bucks a piece and a few uncirculated silver rossies for 50 cents each. Silver war nickles were a quarter. I love those bargain bins. Thanks again.

Haha, FYI, you can't find an uncirculated coin in circulation. :)

Like so many other things in the speculative world, I suggest you buy the best coin you can afford for your money. Sure, you can buy bulk silver and hope the price goes up fast enough to make a quick return. Or you could hold onto it and pray the price goes up someday so you can make back your money and a profit that exceeds any interest you lost by not depositing your little sum of money into a bank account.
OR...you can invest in a good quality coin that will increase in value. Study the Red Book to see how coins appreciate in value. Then buy a good quality coin that is apt to increase in value at least 4-5 fold in the next 10 years.

My SUGGESTION, and please remember that this is only a suggestion...I am not an expert....is to buy a great silver dollar and hold it for awhile. That way you can make a profit one of two ways. Either the price of silver will skyrocket someday and your dollar will be worth more that way. Or the silver dollar will increase exponentially due to its collectability value.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I'm with treasuretales here. If you can afford one nice, graded coin then do that. But don't buy from one of those cheap grading services that markets every coin as MS70. Buy one from one of the top ones.

But the price you are going to pay for bulk silver at a coin show is probably too much.

Recently it was reported that India is sitting on tons of silver waiting for the price to get high enough to dump it on the market. I would guess that the price is almost high enough, and after they dump there stash, the price is gonna take a huge dive on silver bullion. You should invest in the highest grade coins now and save the bullion buying for when the price drops and you will see mercs at .40 cents again and silver dollars at 5-6 dollars. Just my opinion, for what its worth.

LOL @ the idea of paraphrasing your posts for those who don't have time to read the whole thing!

PARAPHRASE: LOL

Lol.

Thanks for all the help! Maybe i will go with a nice morgan dollar, maybe a CC? That would fit perfectly wouldnt it a CC dollar for CC. Lol! Im not sure i can afford one of those though. Il try to find a nice gradeed one, maybe i will get lucky. Thanks again!

THANK YOU!
