Me and my two youngest went out for a few hours this evening to try our luck at a local soccer field. I just gave both of the kids new Ace 250's, it was my son's birthday on the 6th so he got one for his birthday and since my little girls birthday is in the middle of Dec. she got an early gift.
They had a ball for their first time out with the new detectors. We had spent about 3 hours at the house going over how they work so once we got out they could just hunt and have fun. I have one of those test sticks with all the different coins and metals on it, this was very handy for letting the kids get used to the different sound of accepted and rejected targets, not to mention learning how to pinpoint. I have to say the Ace 250 seems like a very user friendly maching and operates very well. Both the kids picked right up on the controls and how to use it. With a little practice they'll be tearing it up.
These are the finds for both kids for the day. Dad helped locate some of the targets with the DFX and said "try it here" when frustration started setting in, just wanted to keep em going as long as I could.
