Some sort of makeup holder?

Hi all. Found this detecting my backyard a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing it's a makeup case of some sort. I was able to open it a tiny bit and can see where one side is divided into two "trays". I'd like to try and bend it back into shape and get it open but am leery of breaking it. I'm guessing it's silver plated but don't know for sure.



Any info is well appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I might be wrong, but it could be a snuff container.
