June 6, 2010 .. 66 yrs ago ..D-Day :icon_salut: .. A warm sunny Sunday afternoon, a few hours to spare , I headed out to the old depression that may be a vanished home site , near the wild animal farm. Ticks are real bad here , but I was willing to give it a shot in hopes of finding something . Near a pile of bricks, that " hopefully " was once part of the foundation or walkway, there were shards of pottery . The red brick looks colonial . I was able to get a few flat buttons and a few little coppers that I am not sure about "more than likely buttons " , a UK 1885 three pence , holed and worn but , nice ,old silver , hot air balloon cuff link ..id Patch , man how does he know all this stuff , Thank U :icon_thumleft: , bronze leather ornament, Three 45 cal. casings. Looks like there could be some keepers still hiding there . Encountered ,5 parasite crawlers , two biters . Returning as soon as I get more "deep woods off". :sunny: Thanks for stopping in . , CMD

Re: Something besides bugs

The dawg finally got out for a hunt ??? :o :o .. Deep woods off is a must in almost everyone's neck of the woods right now ::) Those "flying teeth" are the worst :laughing9: 3-pence= :headbang:

Re: Something besides bugs

Since you have it upside down I'm guessing you don't realize you have a neat find there. It's an early hot air ballon cufflink button.

Re: Something besides bugs

Looks like you have a great colonial site on your hands there! Go back there and search that site real well. Cool finds!

Hmm , Thanks.

Nice digs Dawg! Dug one of those 3 pence myself earlier this spring. That cufflink is great.

Interesting action story and finds. This cufflink is just yammy. And, of course, sterling coin is always welcome.
