Sometimes the sand smiles back...

Hit a small fresh water beach yesterday.....didn't really expect to find much. My plan was to get in the water, but it was 32 degrees out....so I decided to dry sand it for a bit. Got a nice solid low tone on the excal, you know the one that makes your spider senses go off. One scoop and the sand was grinning back at me :laughing7:

Its a first for me, hadn't found any gold dental work until now. This one weighed in at 4g and acid tested 14K.

They kind of creep me out but I sure would like to find some. you live in a great area we have camped at crooked river state park several times ,you have a lot of history around you maybe we could meet up some time?

Just thought I'd mention that they don't make gold grills in 14k! The gold is usually purer and typically 16k-18k when used in a oral application due to its other contained metals being in the mouth. That's why it tests positive for 14k but fails at 18k but you can bet your butt that they are 16k gold! Found a set myself and learned a few things. If you smelted them and mixed it with the required amount of alloy you'd have true 14k. Congrats on a 16k find!

Hey, that's good info thanks. It def failed the 18K test......but that's interesting.
