you veteran detectors of many years, retiree, might understand this, my arms are real sore at time, it's from work, and detecting, I'm retired and still work 2 jobs, my daughter has told me to try cbd cream for the pain, has anybody had good results with it, I'm stopping work in a few years and I don't want to give up this hobby, been at it for 25 years and still need to find a silver dollar haha

From the looks of it you're swinging pretty heavy detectors.
The Minelab equinox, XP & other newer detectors are half the weight of
the detectors you are using. Cutting the weight down might help with your sore arms?

Whack the skin of your arms with nettles (or any other similar spiny plant, pine needles for example), this increases bloodflow and stimulates the nerves. It was a tried and true treatment used in the middle ages, one of the few that actually wasn't bunk.

Also eat anti-inflammatory foods like carrots and apples. If I ever have soreness anywhere I eat a carrot and it usually goes away.

Stay away from foods/drinks high in sodium, sodium makes inflammation worse.

I was a skeptic when my wife said try this and ....it works ! I Rub just a few drops(of this brand) on the affected area & w/in a couple minutes the pain is gone and it stays gone the rest of the day .And thats no BS. :icon_thumright:

I have using "Arnica" creams for decades now. After a long hard day of work/detecting I'll rub it on the areas of the forearm that I know will be hurting the next day.
Need to get the one that has 20%+ Arnica as an ingredient or I found they don't do squat.
Get a swingy cord for the boat anchor Minelab.

Or a nice 'Teknetics Liberator' at only 2.5 pounds :laughing7::headbang:

Not sure of the quality of the brain in the Teknetics.
I'm of the thought buy the best option out there, and learn it well (or try). :laughing7:
The Deus ll has the weight beat, if one stays to the 9" coil and the light rod.

The Minelab detectors Explorer line were heavy 5+lbs.
Now if I'm digging lots of targets the weight isn't an issue-quite sites are an arm killer/knife one back pain.

Both the Explorer, E-Trac, CZ 5 & the heaviest of all the Garrett Masterhunter ADS what a tank that was.

thanks guys, I have 3 avenues to try, the cream, the swingy thing or a nox 600, I will try the carrots and apples before I go out this weekend

I like old fashioned Absorbine JR and it works fast. My XP Deus 2 is under 2 pounds and no issues with the arms or shoulders, the knees however, no machine will help.

I have been using a harness on my detectors since 2008, I even use one on my Nox which is very light, it makes detecting so much easier as it takes the weight off your arm and puts it on your chest.

A detector sling works very well also for the heavy machines

this stuff works good , available at tractor supply and you get a lot of it for the money.
