Now youre all stuck in "I CANT SEE I CANT SEE" mode,mostly by choice.Its easier that way isnt it?If you cant see it you dont have to think about it.

Ivan salis brought no proof to his assertion Mr. Obama's action (and lack of action) was motivated by race and nothing else. Other than the obvious that Mrs. Thatcher was white and Mr. Mandela was Black.

He ignored the fact that many people don't see Mrs. Thatcher or President Reagan as heroes (put him on the dime to replace FDR; carve his face on Mt. Rushmore!).

To look at race and nothing else and then draw a conclusion - there's a name for that.

I would never lower my flag for a man who used terror as a means. He might have changed in later years , which I applaud. Though, he, nor Pope John or any other non-American deserve the respect that is given to our brave men and woman who have given their lives so posters like OB, UM, JB can write their false and mis-leading rants; and not have to worry about torture or execution.
BTW - You lib's also have the right to be racist - it's your own belief and your own call, but you have to live with it.

1. When was Ronald Reagan a terrorist killing innocent people?

2. When was Margaret Thatcher a terrorist killing innocent people?

Mandella went to prison, not because he was black but because he was a TERRORIST who murdered INNOCENTS (people who were not part of the government or part of the problem).

the last time I looked --we the USA as general policy --do not praise and laud terroristic communist leaning leaders

I have brothers who are very very racist - some against white people, some blacks, some Asian ... hell, some of us don't like Indians (no, the other kind of Indians, from India) .

Some hate em all. We're a much smaller minority than the blacks in this country, but we're capable of racism. Blacks are as well.

I guarantee you that any white man who has married or even dated any woman of color (red, yellow, black, etc.) has seen that there is prejudice (racism) from those as well.

Mandela started with words. A campaign of words. When words didn't work he turned to violence. he is a controversial figure, that's for sure. of course the oppression he faced was real. His government was murdering people based on the color of their skin.

Racism is universal. That wasn't being debated here. of all the reasons that Obama could have had for not lowering the flag for Thatcher that race is picked as THE reason is of concern.

Lowering our flag to half mast for foreign dignitaries is a rare occurrence. The last time it happened in our country was in 2005 for Pope John Paul ll. Dozens of world leaders, many of them allies, have died since.

Other non African nations lowering their flags in honor of Mandela include Canada, New Zealand, France, and Norway. None of whom have a black leader. If race plays no role in them honoring Mandela, why is it different for the United States?

Obama paid tribute to Thatcher. He did not attend her funeral. Neither did any of our Ex presidents. 3 ex U.S. Presidents are in South Africa honoring Mandela. Only one of them is black. Why is the black man picked out among them as a racist? Here is why -There are haters ( not you) ironically trying to make this into a race issue when clearly it is not a race issue. Best not to listen to them.
