Found a new site recently and its turning out to be brilliant. First time I hunted the site I found two musket balls, barber dime, Silver Washington Quarter and about 25 Wheat pennies and an IH.

Second hunt I found three Draped Bust large cents and a KG II half penny, but no silver. :icon_scratch:

Third hunt I found an 1876cc seated dime, 2 merc's, Washington silver Quarter and a Standing liberty Quarter(no date).

So, I went out today and was digging mostly wheats, then a couple of IH. I was loosing hope on any silver, then dug a merc dime, checked the hole again and found the 1900 o Barber Quarter(same hole). Then shortly after dug a Jefferson silver dime, then the silver Washington Quarter. It was getting dark and as I swung my coil next to a small tree about an inch in diameter. I heard a faint beep. My machine often beeps when I hit a tree limb or any object. I checked again and it gave me a consistant beef right at the edge of the tree as my coil was bumping it. I dug about 8 to 10 inches down put my pin pointer in the hole and got a signal. When I pulled it out I noticed it had a yellowish tint and very thin. I knew it was silver, but a bit bigger than a dime and too small for a quarter. I thought immediately Spanish silver. Sure enough as I rub the @&^* out of it(as I usually do, can't stop myself) I saw the crown and was extremely excited. These are the moment we dig for.
Ohe forgot possibly the most important find. I believe it to be an official 1910 United States Census badge. When I dug it I thought it was a kids play badge. The C looked like a G so I couldn't figure out what it said, until my wife told me I'm an idiot and it said Census. I have to research it more, but I hope its legit. Thanks for looking :)

Garabaldi, Your 1910 US Census taker's badge is 100 percent legit government issued. I have collected badges for 30 years and seen ones exactly like that at many badge collector's shows. That is a fantastic find, congratulations. The broken pin is called a "saddle pin without a plate," typical on the early 1900's, factory-made badges. Sub 8-)

Thanks sub!!!!

Thanks super Dave!!!

We find ourselves trying to say something that the rest of us hasnt all ready said, well all I can think of saying is that the picture with all the finds together really is a beautiful sight ! It continues to amaze me that what we find is just sitting there waiting for us to rescue them, enduring the test of time and elements. Its so cool !

Well said grizzly !

Did I miss you mentioning that free standing coin is a Flying Eagle Cent (1856-1858)?

Also, nice 1 Real coin; .833% silver; 20mm in diameter and should weigh just under3 grams.
Obverse: Fernandus DG VI (Fernando VI by the grace of God) around the coat of arms of the king crowned, between ‘R’ (real) on ‘M’ (Madrid mint) and ‘I’ (value) on ‘JB’ (assayers- José Tramullas y Ferrer and Bernardo Muñoz de Amador).
Reverse: REX Hispaniarum 1752 (King of Spain) around a barracks of castles and lions within a border of eight lobes.
Don.......

Thanks Willy,
I thought it was a pistareen. I found a 1737 2 reales pistareen style. I guess the pistareen a were not meant to leave the main land, also if found in US there often clipped in halves or quarters.
Merry Xmas

Glorious hunt! Makes me wonder about all the "tree-bump" signals I've gotten. I will remember this post next time that happens.
