Special mat?

Do they make such a thing as a special "mat" that one can put the dug dirt on so that when you run your dectector over the pile of dirt it won't pick up any metal signals from the earth below the mat? This would help me greatly in retrieving targets. Thanks everybody..

Nope, but they do sell hand held pin pointers. Whites TRX is the best for the money at this time.

I use part of a towel, put dirt on it, pick it up like a bag and swing near coil. works good when hitting multiple targets.

Have not used it in a while but did cut the edge off,notched level with flat part about three inches of it anyway of a Frisbee copy to allow pouring fines and crumbs back after gloving the balance back in first. Drilled a hole for a loop of para cord to hang/carry it. Easy enough to move if chasing a signal and entire thing can be swung over top of coil if desired to check for a signal, if not too heavy a pile on it.
