I stopped at one of my colonial sites after work today in spite
Of the 90 degree heat. I was using my x-terra 705 with the 10.5"dd
Coil. My first signal sounded like a button partly masked by iron.
What I popped out of the hole blew my mind!!
I thought it might be a seal but wasn't sure
until I got home and carefully brushed it off
and saw the image of a colonist staring back at me!!!
It is complete and in great condition. The fob
looks to be brass and the engraved material looks
like carnelian stone. I'm thinking it dates to mid 18th century
which is consistent with other finds from this site.
I guess I can scratch this one off my bucket list!!

Great find, if you press it into some hot candle wax it will show the image really well. Found one a few years ago and did that with mine.

That is a nice one. And fairly unusual from the ones I've see. Congrats!

That's awesome congrats

very cool find, another reason to metal detect, cool history brought back for us to see and admire

Those dont come out of the ground much. I found one a few years back on a colonial site but I have to say I like yours better. Congrats

That's one of the nicer wax seals I've seen posted...and that says a lot

I think they're all nice, but yours stands out!
Awesome find!
It's a real prize

Awesome piece, wow, just wow... That just jumps out to me like a bucket list item. You can check that one off the list.
I vote Banner!!!!

Be very cool to see it stamped in putty. Awesome find!

Spectacular seal indeed relicmeister, one of the best I've seen. Congrats!

Fantastic seal relicmeister! These are some of my favorite relics. Unique and personal.

Congrats on an amazing historical find!!! I vote Banner too! Please post a pic of the impression. It would be great if the person on the seal could be identified.

Congrats on the seal it's a real beauty. Feeling a little green on this side of the screen looking at this find so early in the morning.
