I stopped at one of my colonial sites after work today in spite
Of the 90 degree heat. I was using my x-terra 705 with the 10.5"dd
Coil. My first signal sounded like a button partly masked by iron.
What I popped out of the hole blew my mind!!
I thought it might be a seal but wasn't sure
until I got home and carefully brushed it off
and saw the image of a colonist staring back at me!!!
It is complete and in great condition. The fob
looks to be brass and the engraved material looks
like carnelian stone. I'm thinking it dates to mid 18th century
which is consistent with other finds from this site.
I guess I can scratch this one off my bucket list!!

Awesome early wax seal! I am among the many that remain hopeful of finding an early wax seal as well. Excellent find. I'd say the hot weather on that dig was hardly noticeable when that beauty came to the surface!
