Just did some research on my "Why" spiked pottery shard and found this while looking....anyone heard of it before? It's about NA depictions of ancient dinosaurs, maybe from fossils? Kind of interesting...the site is Genesispark.com ancient30.webpancient31-300x232.webp DSCN4903.webp This last pic is of my shard....makes ya think...lol

Hey GatorBoy....incase you look at this, you might have been on to something? :)

Wow ..neat huh

I know you have it in hand and I'm only looking at a photo but I'm stubborn I still don't think it's pottery lol.. It might not be from bone material it could be a fossil cast of something left in sediment that just does not look like pottery to me

Now this is a great mystery ck! :) my thought is: can't see any pores/marrow representing fossil skin/bone.? First thought was..maybe part of a 'ceremonial' emblem / outfit / mask? ..Just my thought...cause I don't know 'sweet tweet' about most of your finds/discovery's! ;) Very Interesting!! Hope to hear what it really is.

My first thought was it doesn't look like pottery... Look closely at the material look at the edge does it look like any pottery shards you have from that area?
It looks like natural sediment.

Ichnofossil ? Gator?

Some sort of trace fossil ..yeah.
Or even stalactite or stalacmite buildup.
I bet my entire paycheck that it is natural and not pottery

...OK...now you all have me wondering even more, thought it would just be a "interesting shard" and that would be that. lol...I'll take some close ups of it and size it also, should have done that already...sorry! Thanks everyone!

Here's some more pictures with it's size....DSCN5087.webpDSCN5064.webpRSCN5092.webp
