Figured it was Halloween... might as well post some spooky pics from today.
Left the guys running and they sent me some of these.
I went back to camp and did some cleanups.

Shot from the field, gold in the mats. Pretty cool.

nice gold ,look at all that lead ,and they say dredging is harmful to the enviroment .

I have nightmares of floating gold. :D

Damn, look at that floating. I normally see a small piece or two. Looked like a floatilla of boats on the lake. Lol.
I've got a question about the mats.
I've got a gold buddy highbanker and I'm thinking about replacing the carpet mat that came with it.
On top is the regular square groove mat.
So if I use a mat on the bottom, does the expanded metal and ripples interfere with the mat performance?
I wonder if I used the mat in conjunction that when I clamp my ripples down that they'd smash the mat down a bit.
Maybe I could create a 12" attachment at the end so the mat could catch anything else that might make it through the ripples/carpet.

We pretty much never use expanded over the mats. The ONLY case would be maybe UR with a LOT of velocity.
I'm assuming yours is running a fairly low water flow, so I would use Razorback and maybe some Scrubber or Riverhog with the main riffle cut down.

If you want to see some really cool stuff about floating gold...
Watch the SECOND video in the learning center located below.

I HATE FLOATING GOLD!!!! That stuff gives me chills.....

I'm thinking that the picture of the lead should be posted to some of the "Greenie" sites along with the question of "How much lead have YOU removed from streams and rivers today?" Maybe that will help change some of their attitudes towards dredging. They may "talk the talk, but we walk the walk".
