At least today before next week's snow event. Went down south of Leadville in the Twin Lakes area. Spotted a moose antler shed. Watched a gold mining operation for a little while. I don't know how those guys are coming out but that valley used to be a pretty good producer.

Nice Photo's! Not too many moose around here, wolves have pretty much eradicated them.

Yeah that alluvial deposit has been mined in the past. When I lived up there there was an old bucket line dredge up there that hadn't been used in decades. I think it's gone now. I know the huge one that was in Fairplay went to South America and there was also a bucket line dredge in Alma at one time and I don't see it anymore. They may have been scrapped or they were dismantled and taken to some 3rd world country that has no issues with the environmental destruction of that method of mining with such a machine. Kind of a mystery as to where those old relics disappeared to.

I spotted a moose just off the side of the road couple weeks ago and stopped to get a shot of it, but she trotted on back down in the willows in the creek and just couldn't get a good shot. I heard on the radio driving that maybe in Montana they need to increase the permits on taking wolf's as they're getting to be so many of them up there. Or I heard something about the wolf situation going on in Montana.??

Moose come in and wander down Main Street here sometimes. They can be pretty dangerous at times.

There are a few moose clear out here in the desert prairie. Nebraska game and parks, Clear creek WMA has lots of sightings.
