ST. Christopher Medal

I found this medal in a box of old family stuff
but the only thing I can make out is ST. Christopher.
Can any one tell me what the rest says and what language it is.

With the picture of the old car I am guessing it was for devine protection while driving, something like a plastic Jesus dash figurine. Monty
