So today I went to a spot that I've been to many times. I somewhat believe it may have been hunted for silver only before me. Well a week ago we had a bad storm and a tree was struck by lighting. They removed the tree and ended up chipping it right where it was. Then another one! Well two days ago I went there and got a sterling silver spoon. I ONLY dug under the tree today! Today I got out for 40 minutes I started digging in the dark! I decided to start digging trash signals because there was a tree there for a long time and figured there would not be any modern cans and bottle craps (caps lol). It paid off! I got some old shotgun brass, some Play Munny which is 1920s-1950s (I'm guessing since everything I've seen says vintage), horse shoe, seed dipper, bottle cap from between the 1920s-1940s, and a clock gear. I think I'm going to start digging trash signals at this site. Only problem is it is filled with trash! Oh well it will pay off!

I forgot to mention I might have found a trash dump. I started digging glass, pottery, and random things.

That spoon u dug made by Sterling - Stieff dates to 1921 according to the Stieff chart below.. Anything after 1936 or below 1916-1901 had a letter or a number on the spoon and anything from 1917-1935 had a symbol.

Wow thanks! It gave a very weird reading on my ace 350. Almost trashy. It was a faint skipping tone. I still don't understand that haha.

Better check that machine out! That spoon should have blown your ears off, at least it would have with my Fisher.

I honestly have gone over a half dime (when it was in the ground) with the 350 and didn't hear anything then went over it with the Cibola and it was very loud! I think I'm missing silver. I'm digging 1965s left and right. Also wheats. I don't get it!

if you just bought the machine i would ask for my money back and get another machine. No excuse! for a machine to not pick up silver or make it sound like iron.. That would surely be a buzz kill...

I got it from my uncle who got it from another guy who bought it when it first came out lol. Oh well I'm on my way to the AT Pro soon!
