I've gotten 2 pennies with the picture of states, Rhode Island and North Carolina, with the initials in them on the obverse side. Does anyone know anything about these?

They were produced by third-party marketers. Not worth anything with regards to numismatics, but there are few collectors that are up to the challenge to assemble a set. They won't pay much, but they are a novelty. IMO, they are a keeper as it only cost you a cent.
 
Someone just found a CA one.... I think they are pretty neat and actually recently searched ebay to buy the whole set but my efforts came up empty.

i'd say they have as much value as a gold plated half dollar or quarter- face value, but still a keeper
