Found this last night during a short hunt.
Its a round brass item about the size of a half dollar.
It says State of Mississippi on it, it has an eagle with a shield, and what looks like sunrays coming down at the top.
Also found 2 barber dimes at the same park in the same hole earlier in the hunt. 1901 0 and 1903 0.
It looks like it might be a state seal keychain, watchfob, or some sort of a medal. Any ideas:icon_scratch:???
Been trying to clean it up a little as it was covered corrosion/vertigris.

Same on both sides? Might have been part of an award medal necklace and is missing the top bar that held the ribbon.

The four leaf clover is a symbol for the 4H club and I was thinking this could have been an award for State Farmer or something on those lines, the only thing is I think it would have 4H on it somewhere if so????

Thanks for responding guys. Its plain/smooth on the other side.
I the only markings I could make out were the 3 words State of Mississippi.
There is still some green on it that I cannot remove, will take a closer look.
I did notice the 4 leaf clover design and was wondering what significance that might have had.

Place it in an aluminum pie plate or the bottom of an inverted soda can (if it will fit), cover it with vinegar, let it sit overnight, rub it good with baking soda, then rinse under fresh water. It should clean up good enough to see any other details it might have.
