I agree civilian fashion blazer. This Statue of Liberty button design may have been around for years so IMO without a backmark or shank its no telling how old it is or who made it. At least tell us if its brass or steel? Is it a one piece or 2 piece with iron back? I cant tell by the pic. Rusted away iron back fashion buttons are usually 20th century.

A quick search revealed a version made by Waterbury and the halo and base look like a much closer match. They stock many 19th century designs.. My posts are going in very slow today.
