Found this sterling beaver pendant in knee deep water at the beach today. I wish I could have found the chain, I’m sure it would have been heavy. It rang up like a quarter on the manticore but it was a jumpy signal.

Excellent find! Love the sound of silver. I'm sure there's a joke in here about being busy, lol. Congratz!

Super find, Congratulations!

Great find ! Congrats !
I know you're bummed that you couldn't find the beaver's chain, but don't let it "gnaw" at you.

Nice one🏴‍☠️ I think the chain is gone away, because the color of pendant said that and many layers of sand washed away many times.
Best of luck next spin🏝️

Nice find!

I believe what you found is a Boy Scout Silver Beaver award, it originally didn't have a chain, it would of had a ribbow,

Here's one on eBay with the ribbow.

Very good.

Girl I met in college should have received one of those. One GREAT beaver.

Nice. It is indeed a Boy Scout award as @AU Seeker says, introduced in 1931 as a pin-on medal to be worn on the pocket. Due to the heavy weight, it was switched to a neck ribbon in mid-1932.

Those marked ‘STERLING’ with a stylised lower case ‘r’ like yours were produced by the Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts between about 1950 and 1960.

Damn, that’s it. I was wondering why anyone would wear a pendant that bulky. It’s amazing how much knowledge is shared on this forum.

Hang on to that Silver Beaver, Silver's up over $6/oz in just the last week.
