The first mark (actually two marks conjoined) is the German national ‘crescent and crown’ (Halbmond und Reichskrone) which was in use from 1886 and became a compulsory mark from 1888. I believe the second (maker's) mark is this one:

It's reported on German silver from the late 19th Century but the maker is currently regarded as "unidentified". That looks like the original case. Any other clues from it?

Very interesting pair. Special to have the original box they came in. I'm thinking they have glass inserts. So the silver weight is quite a bit less that 83 grams. Nice find in any case.

They don't have glass inserts and the cover on the box is some type of leather but not sure if lizard or not.
