Sterling in the hole

I went out for a bit today and got a beautiful sterling Amethysts ring,
A old cross that was very pretty in its day and the usual clad.
There is a F for a possible makers mark on one side of the ring and Ster with an S in front of the ster on the the other. Any guesses on age?
