Yep. Still summertime in Bama. Hot, sultry 90 degree days that's keeping the hunting time to a minimal...but the pools open for business and the sweet iced tea is being served.

Hey Judy....we got your float! :D

I really thought we'd get a break from the heat today, with Faye being so close, but not today! :P Sunny and hot all day long. Terri and I went out this morning to one of our favorite spots. We hunted under all the shade trees and was tempted and strayed a few times out into the sun. Got a few neat things but no silver today.

Ford key
Derringer
spoon
change
one wheat... looks like 1923
miner's tags...one with the company name it. (1882-1887)

On Tuesday I hunted in the country for a few minutes...only keepers from there was a buckle, change and a button with an archer on it...A bit difficult to see..but he's there.

Great finds, Nana! Staying in the pool will keep you good and cool. Like the RR tube, I bet the boys are really enjoying all their pool toys.

If Bama is anything like Tenn. I bet the grass is crunchy and the pool feels like bath water.
I've been trying to get out but I have qualified for the whiners club 9 out of the last 10 days :'( IT'S TOO HOT> Glad your making some finds. Right now a wheat penny would be like GOLD to me.. :tard:

I think its hot everywhere Nana...even here in Michigan. Only in the 70's tonight, mid 80's tomorrow. Could get out for a little while. Nice finds...what are those miners tokens for?

Getting hot again here, too. The dirt is dust, essentially. I couldn't help but notice those rings in the last picture; make sure you don't have to go searching for them!

Cool finds. I have found one of those ford keys and also the same derringer. I really like the ford key - one of my favorites.

It got hot here today - almost 91. Probably only our second 90 degree day. Nate and I were out hunting. Only lasted about 2 hours. :P Wow it was hot in the sun. Suppose to be a high of 73 on Monday. That will be nice hunting weather.
