Plan A was to look at a Archy target in the corner of a field we had not had much luck in, but as it was available we gave it a go. It was still very lumpy & the area we hoped might be Roman turn up very few signs, so glad Dad got the Very Rare Token!
We moved after lunch but our plan B was a no go & we moved to the Button Field for Plan C where we got 86 Buttons in 1 hour 45 minutes.
4 Hour total hunt time:
Will III Lovetoken (Sixpence)
Lead Cloth Seal
Broken Tudor Book Clasp
My first 'Rubber' Army General Service Corp Button (Can't find on net, the broken loop was just enough for a signal!)
RAF Buttons
Royal Marines Button
French? Medical Button
French Fire Service Button
Welsh Army Button
Mystery Flag Button?
2 US General Service Buttons
1668 Halfpenny Token of Robert Bass of Market Harborough

You certainly were in a button field! Great looking token, worth a bit for sure.

Cool cool cool! Wow that one love token is a real keeper! Congrats Cru

The love token is the blank coin next to the blue & white pottery piece. The Heart shaped token is probably a play on words, it has a 'Hart' (or stag) in the centre. Probably a 17th C Inn/Pub called 'The Hart'.

Looks like most of your finds were a bit newer than you usually dig, but fortunately that awesome token was mixed in. Never seen a heart-shaped one like that. Outstanding!

We don't see many of these heart shaped tokens posted here and this is one with lots of detail left. Nice!

That's a killer token!!!

That Half Penny toke is very cool.

So how many shirts do you think you can make now? I love that old love token. Congrats!

You guys are certainly killing it over there..Congrats and keep em coming!

Dad must be happy with that great token! I like all the finds, and 86 buttons must grow tiresome haha. Also like how the pottery shard is broken nicely to show the portrait...

That is a nice one! Must be quite a small % who used the heart shape.

Speaking of the 17th century tokens, I recently went though all my old coins again one by one and stopped as I had done a few times before at a small coin which there is basically nothing left except for a few letters across the center, and what looked like part of the design on the back, also in the center. It was only seeing it this time did I realize the one would I can see it "HALF" and it's probably a His Half peny/penny token. The size is right, and now the small design on the otherside makes total sense, I only wish I knew what it is. It may be a shoe, but the token is so bad even if I found what looked like a match I question if I would be able to confirm. Anyway, never thought I would dig one, but think I have.... which is quite out of place because my oldest Brit. copper is a William III... although in the same session I also see I have dug a really poor Bawbee copper. Anyway, I have always liked those, and you have yourself one about as nice as you could hope for.. and will add to what I assume is a good little collection of them.

As Bill said, most of these are not of the age you usually post, but certainly good finds as compared to most posts here. Awesome finds. Were some of the buttons in a spill of some sort?

Gosh what an asset Crusader is !
It is stunning to consider all the history he has recovered, for our benefit!
I am so glad to see him still, so hard at work, over the years.
He is a national treasure and IMO worthy of recognition as a peer!

That is a great looking token.

@IP - Sounds like you got one.

@Old Dude - It was uniforms that were burnt & spread on the field.

Nice token, can't say I've seen a heart shaped one before. Any idea what the item is below the crotal bell? I have found several of these that appear to be layers of stamped lead with a smaller raised round center.

Its a Lead Cloth Seal, missing some of its folded over top.

I found this back in the spring and believe its a half penny token. Does anyone agree?

I'd have no problem betting it is. Would be too much of a coincidence being something else and having the two letter H... and it being about the right size.
