I found this stone while detecting at an old indian/lumberjack camp area and was wondering if it is an indian relic or just a natural formation. It was found on private property about 1/4 mile from an native America burial ground.

Thanks,

Badger

Okay, Badger, I was hoping the stone was an Indian artifact. So maybe this time it isn't. But you know what, there's gotta be some real artifacts in that area your hunting. Keep Looking!

you can't tell me stones can't be worn down like this other than by modern tools. Look at this rock. If you look close you will see the date that this rock was modified by human hands.

Hey if I say a rock that said $500, 1884, I would be diggin!

Hey MB, as much as I want that stone to be an Indian artifact, I'm going to give you my two cents worth. Really looks like another stone or rock was wedged into it when that stone was formed and has since fallen out. Would be very hard to wear or make an impression like that without modern day technology. Hope I'm wrong. HH, Mike

my id book for stone artifacts written by an archeologist must have bad pictures then.....

Kidney stone? ;)

Like I said, I hope that is an Indian artifact and I know the Michigan Badger has some great sites he hunts, just my opinion on the stone, does not mean much! Teverly, please prove me wrong and show us what the great Archies know, I am interested! By the way, I have detected Schoenbrunn. HH, Mike
